Virtual try-on privacy & security The camera video never leaves the device

Shoppers trust you with their camera. Here’s exactly what happens — and what doesn’t — so you can tell them with confidence.

For your shoppers

Private by design, not by promise

The video stays on the device

The live try-on runs in the shopper’s browser. Face, hand and body tracking happen on their phone or computer; the camera video is never uploaded or recorded.

No shopper accounts

Shoppers don’t sign up or log in. We never collect their names, emails or faces.

Anonymous analytics

We count events — opens, try-ons, screenshots, shares, Buy now clicks — with a random visitor id kept in the browser, the device type and an approximate country. Never who the shopper is.

Their photos stay theirs

Screenshots and clips stay on the shopper’s device unless they choose to save or share them.

The one exception: AI clothing photos. To make a photo of a shopper wearing a garment, their photo is uploaded and sent to our AI provider. The shopper agrees to this first, and the result is deleted after 24 hours.

Questions

Privacy questions

Is the camera video uploaded?

No. The live try-on is processed in the shopper’s browser, on their device. Nothing from the camera is sent to TryItOnMe or recorded.

What about the AI clothing photo?

That is the one exception, and the shopper agrees to it first: their photo is uploaded and sent to our AI provider to make the image, and the result is deleted after 24 hours.

Do you use shoppers’ faces to train AI?

No. We never receive the live camera video, so there is nothing to train on.

Does it work on every phone?

It works in the browser on modern phones, tablets and computers. Very low-end phones may be slow, and necklaces need the shoulders in view.
